I’ve had a migraine for days: today, yesterday evening, and the beginning of one on Saturday afternoon.  Does it count as just one migraine?  It went away for Sunday morning.

Anyway, two of my good friends got engaged at a party on Saturday night (happy engagement, friends!), and I watched it happen.  That’s pretty frickin’ cool.

Since my friends live in a place that’s not around here, I planned on leaving a crane in their area.  I folded one last week after work, a pink crane with red writing, and tucked it into my purse.  Unfortunately, I no longer know where that crane is.  Maybe a pickpocket picked my purse and got a crane instead of my wallet.  Maybe the crane fell out while I was at a store.  Maybe I dropped the crane at work and the people who clean the office picked it up and put it in the crane vase on my desk.  All I know is that I had no crane all weekend, which is unfortunate because I went to a lot of new places.  Have you found the crane and made your way to my blog?  I would love a note: pahoehoe12 (at) yahoo (dot) com.  Please email me.

Since I have a migraine, this will be the end of this post, and you’ll have to wait until another day for me to tell you about my latest brainchild.  See?  Migraines suck.

Seth and I gave blood today.  Actually, Seth gave blood and I sat there and wrote and listened to some Chet Baker.  It was the first time I’ve had an inclination to leave a crane in a while.  Good thing I always come prepared.  I’ve been carrying this little beauty of a crane around for several weeks — it’s one of my favorites.  And yes, you can see I managed to use the macro setting of my camera.

I didn’t realize when I left this, but Independence Day approaches.  What perfect timing for a patriotic crane.  Hurray!

Meanwhile, I went to my very first yoga class ever.  The YMCA offers free classes to members, and I figured I need help relaxing, so I went.  This class was for Hatha Yoga, which is supposed to be the most gentle form of all, and very good for beginners and helping people to relax.  Neat!  I feel very sleepy right now, but I was very uncomfortable during the class because I ate within the previous two hours.  Next time, though, I’ll know.

The instructor was very nice to me.  I told her I get migraines, and so she modified tonight’s routine to include lots of stretching and relaxing exercises for the neck and shoulders.  That was nice.  It was also quite personalized for a class — there were only six of us.  I’d like to continue doing yoga to see if it makes any difference for me, but the classes are only once a week and I already know I have to miss next week’s.  No use stressing about it now, though.  Maybe I’ll pick up a morning yoga class instead (I can already envision Seth rolling his eyes and saying, “yeah right”).

Oh, and another thing.  I pulled the doorknob off the bathroom yesterday morning, and then the handle off the faucet yesterday morning.  How is that possible that they both happened at the same time?  It must because I’m strong like bull.  And it has nothing to do with the faucet leak rusting out the handle.  I told my boss about this yesterday, but she didn’t laugh.  I don’t know why.  It was hysterical.

My photos never seem to come out as well as anyone else’s.  I think I’m photographically challenged.  Or maybe impatient.  I had hoped to impress people reading my blog with my awesome picture-taking skills, but instead I show a lot of mediocre pictures and the occasional good one.  Ah, well, I’ll just have to leave the photography to the people who leave cranes on my behalf, like Roy and my sister (I’ve been working on your cranes Kate, I swear!)

I left this crane in the student union building of my alma mater, specifically in a student’s mailbox.  For some reason, Seth got it in his head to start twisting the locks of the mailboxes to see which people leave their mailboxes susceptible to shady alumni like us.  There were quite a few.  I thought it would make a good picture to leave a crane in a mailbox, and then against my better judgment, I shut the mailbox after I took the picture.  That was silly.  If I had left the door open, anyone could’ve taken the crane.  Ah, me.  Now we’ll just have to wait to see which poor University student has Suite 3386 in the fall (unless some post office work-study student finds it first).

Now, you may not know this, but I’ve had a bunch of atypical jobs.  I worked as a ham-seller at Easter time, then as a carpenter, then as a seamstress in a costume shop, then as a caregiver in an animal shelter, then I worked in a flower shop.  I’m awesome.  But most importantly, I know how to get you to eat ham/learn how to power drill things/sew/scoop animal poop/kill flowers.  So if you have any questions, I’m wide open.  There was a point to this paragraph, but I lost it somewhere along the way.  I’m sure I’ll remember it another time.
